George Garchar

George Garchar has been with Catholic Charities for 12 years and serves dual roles:  Associate Director of Social Action and Executive Director for Catholic Charities Housing Opportunities (CCHO).   

In the Office of Social Action, George assists with the Catholic Campaign for Human Development; advocates and provides educational opportunities on various topics related to Catholic Social Teaching and participates in community development activities. 

As the Executive Director of CCHO, George is responsible for the administration and coordination of housing counseling and downpayment assistance programs.

George earned a Bachelor’s degree in Geography from Youngstown State University and Master’s degrees in Community Planning and Geography from the University of Cincinnati.

George serves on various community boards and committees, and enjoys exercise and writing in his free time.
