A Father’s Pride on Father’s Day

 My name is Darryl. My wife and I have four children with another on the way. When we first visited Catholic Charities, we were desperate. I was ashamed to admit this, but our youngest was wearing a homemade diaper consisting of paper towels and duct tape. Why? Beause we had completely run out of diapers, and had no money to buy more. When we met with the caseworker at Catholic Charities, she did not make us feel bad or embarrassed. She actually complimented our creative solution! She immediately gave us diapers, wipes, formula and a few other basic baby necessities. Through a special program, Catholic Charities was even able to help with a few items for the baby on the way, food from the pantry to tide us over and some healthy, not to mention budget-friendly recipes. Now, please don’t tell my wife I said so, but she really could use some new recipes!
