Emergency Assistance
The largest program offered by Catholic Charities is Emergency Assistance. This program combines material and financial assistance with advocacy efforts for people in need. Please note that services may vary by site.
Catholic Charities Serving Portage and Stark Counties offers the following types of Emergency Assistance Services:
- Emergency rent and mortgage assistance
- Emergency utility assistance
- Emergency food pantry
- Holiday and/or special event asssitance (e.g. back-to-school)
- Work-related expenses (e.g. work boots, transporation to a new job, etc.)
- Community and agency referrals
- Possible other services essential to well-being
Emergency Assistance extends help and hope in times of crisis and need to families and children in cooperation with other social service agencies, churches, food pantries and kitchens.
*All services are available pending individual eligibility and funding availability.
