The Office of Social Action works with parish staff to develop social concerns committees which deal with services, advocacy, housing/neighborhood issues, global affairs, legislative activities, criminal justice/prison ministries, migration and refugee ministries, and other justice and peace initiatives.

The Office of Social Action is the local contact for the following national ministries of the Catholic Church: Catholic Campaign for Human Development, Catholic Relief Services, Disaster Response, Migration & Refugee Services, Social Development, Ohio Catholic Conference, Bread for the World and Catholics Confront Global Poverty.

The Office works in close cooperation with the Diocese of Youngstown Office of Marriage, Family and Pro-Life Activities, Faith Formation, Religious Education and Schools.
